Limestone Paving Slabs

Limestone is usually a biological sedimentary rock, forming from the accumulation of shell, coral and other organic debris or from the precipitation of calcium carbonate from lake or ocean water.

Limestones are denser than sandstones so when split to create paving, the surface is flatter as the rivens are less pronounced.

It is worth noting, that all limestones do naturally fade in colour which is an attractive characteristic in its own right, but sealants can be used to help minimise these effects should you prefer.

Limestone paving slabs are a popular choice for outdoor paving due to their natural beauty and durability. Limestone is a sedimentary rock that is composed mainly of calcium carbonate, making it a strong and long-lasting material for paving. Limestone slabs are often cut from large blocks of the rock into thin, flat pieces that can be used for paving patios, walkways, and other outdoor spaces.

One of the main benefits of using limestone paving slabs is that they are low maintenance and easy to clean. Limestone is naturally resistant to stains and is not affected by moisture, which makes it ideal for use in outdoor environments. Limestone slabs also have a slip resistant surface, making them safe to walk on even in wet conditions.

Another advantage of using limestone paving slabs is that they are versatile and come in a variety of sizes and shapes, allowing you to create a custom look for your outdoor space. Limestone is also available in a range of colours, from light to dark, which means you can choose the colour that best matches the aesthetic of your home.

In addition to being durable and low maintenance, limestone paving slabs are also environmentally friendly. Limestone is a natural material that is abundant in many parts of the world, and its extraction and processing have a low impact on the environment compared to other building materials.

Overall, limestone paving slabs are an excellent choice for outdoor paving due to their natural beauty, durability, low maintenance, and environmental friendliness. Whether you are looking to create a new patio, walkway, or other outdoor space, limestone slabs are a great option that will provide years of enjoyment and satisfaction.
